In 1991, The Bakery Café introduced fast food culture to the Kathmandu valley. With its first outlet in Teendhara and newest and 8th outlet in Bhatbhateni, the chain has been a key factor in cultivating a culture of eating out with friends, family and colleagues.

The Bakery Café chain has outlets in Teendhara, Baneshwor, Sundhara, Teku, Jawalakhel, Boudha, Pulchowk, Thamel and Bhatbhateni. It has 290 staff members till date.

Today, The Bakery Cafe is known not only for its quality food, accessibility and efficient service but also for accepting and employing deaf staff. Shyam Kakshapati, the Chairman of Nanglo International, got the inspiration to employ these deaf people, otherwise not considered eligible for work in most professional settings, after working with them at some public events. Their dedication and professionalism impressed him. In 1997 when he opened The Bakery Café at New Baneshwor he employed 12 young deaf people who had no previous work experience and certainly no training in the food and hospitality industry. Kakshapati himself trained them and says it has been one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences for him. Later more outlets began employing deaf staff and today The Bakery Café trains and employs 45 deaf staff.

The Bakery café is a household identity for youngsters, families and executives today, serving steaming momos, pizzas, sizzling platters, thick burgers, thin sandwiches, fresh salads, steaming drinks and more.
